Often children who haven’t had formal handwriting instruction (shown how to form the letters) don’t know where to start the letter or understand where to place letters on the line.
Top, Middle, Bottom: A Learn To Write Printable introduces the language that is needed when learning to write. For example: how does a child know where to start the capital letter B? They need to be taught to put their pencil at the top and pull a straight line down to the bottom and stop. Go back to the top and make a small curve from the top to the middle and again from the middle to the bottom.
Writing becomes extra hard when the child doesn’t know where top, middle, bottom is on the page.
